So we all know that copying is a no-no and to be different and unique wherever we possibly be can.
If we are selling what is our passion, then the creativity should flow (even if we need help).
However, I myself have a secret list of all the ecommerce sites selling products, ecommerce services or subscriptions whom I idolise … I don’t copy them but I do see them as out of my league for many reasons and because of this I want to be like them and force myself up onto my toes to compete at their level.
I look at their social media accounts, I look at their web sites, I read their blogs, I watch their you tube videos and so on.
I use them as a benchmark of where I would like to be personally and where I want my business to be in the near future.
Please make some time to make a list of your favourite online shops, web sites etc and pin them to your homepage so that you are reminded about them and you visit their portals often in order to learn from their advancements.
The only prerequisite is that these brands MUST be far better than your brand and that you want to aspire to have a business operating at their level.
If the business/brand intimidates you that is good, follow in their footsteps and just observe from a distance what they are doing which forces you to grow.
